Smarter Slack step

We've updated our Slack step to make notifications more informative and smart. 👨‍💼

We've updated our Slack step to make notifications more informative and smart. 👨‍💼

Sometimes you want to tweak your dream notifications, but there are times when you just want something that includes everything important out of the box.

The messages sent by our Slack step are fully customizable, but there is a bunch of information that you always want to be sent for most of your applications. If you don't want to specify what Slack messages should include every time you set up a new project, all you have to do is... well... apart from updating the step: nothing.

The predefined Slack messages now show all the essential details about your build:

  • The status of your build (success or fail)
  • Git branch
  • The title of your project with a link to open it
  • Build number with a link to the build page
  • Workflow ID
  • Optionally the public install page URLs (if you have already deployed the apps)

You can still add anything else you'd like, but you can leave it just as it is,
and go right back to coding.

Read our guide to setting up customized Slack notifications for your builds and even adding gifs with soft kitty, warm kitty to boost the fun factor.
