Right before the holidays, we announced that we were working on M1 virtualization to offer the world’s first virtualized M1 CI/CD environment on Bitrise. Read how we are progressing.
Today, we’ve had multiple successful test runs with early internal alpha testers and a handful of customers. The project is progressing, but we’re conscious of the expectations and the responsibility.
We don’t just need our virtualised M1 environment to be fast (which it will be), but need to deliver an environment that is as dependable and scaleable as the Intel-based infrastructure, because - before long - Apple Silicon will be where all iOS builds need to happen. To ensure we can deliver on those needs, we're dotting all our i's and crossing all our t's, before rolling M1 out to a broader beta testing group.
So for now, we continue the work, and will update you regularly as we progress further. You can expect another update next month, where we'll share some more about the underlying technology and the team working on the project.
