Community Roundup: June 16 – July 3

Check out what's been going on in the Bitrise community!

Summer’s here, folks! If the heat has gotten a bit on your nerves as of late, don’t worry — we’ve got you covered with some cool mentions to make things a bit more bearable. Let’s check them out!

Guides and articles

Our first two articles this time come from Bassem Qoulta over at DevGenius, titled “How to integrate Bitrise with Github and fastlane via Slack”, parts 1 and 2. These are absolutely amazing — cheers for putting these together, Bassem.

This article comes from Cathandnya, who encountered a problem when deploying to Firebase App Distribution on Bitrise — luckily, it looks like he’s found the culprit. Thank you for sharing this with the community, Nya.

Next up are two Applandeo articles, one from Kamil Walas, titled “iOS Project with Bitrise, Bitbucket and Danger”, and another one from Artur Teodorowicz, titled “Flutter integration with Bitrise, AppCenter and Firebase”. While the first one isn't strictly from the last two weeks, it flew under our radar during the previous Roundup, so we wanted to include it now. Thank you so much for both of these — we love them.

This next article is titled “Modular Architecture for a Large-Scale Mobile Application”, and is by Facundo Rodríguez over at Flux IT. Thank you so much for emphasizing just how much difference a great CI/CD tool like Bitrise can make when developing your apps. Cheers for this piece.

This article comes from Kusokamayarou, who wrote about changing your Bitrise connection from AWS CodeCommit to GitHub. Great job — thank you so much for writing this.

Last but not least, here’s an article titled “How to Cache Gem, Homebrew, Mint on Bitrise?” by David Lin. 6 minutes, down from 16? That’s awesome, David! Thank you so much for writing and sharing this.

Before we go on to the mentions, we also wanted to share two of the presentation decks we saw at our second Japanese BUG — thank you, Hiroko and Sato-shin, for sharing these, and for all of our speakers for their great presentations. We hope you all had a blast.

Tweets and mentions

We’ll start the mentions off with an amazing shoutout from O’Neal Ombu, who tweeted out how we remain to be his number one choice for CI/CD for all his cross-platform app development. Thank you so much for your continued support — we really appreciate it.

Till date @bitrise still remains my favourite CI/CD for my cross platform mobile app development purposes...— O’Neal Ombu #MobileAppDeveloper (@ONealOmbu) June 16, 2020

Next up is a tweet by Cristian González, who shared a photo of the cool swag package he got for talking at one of our Bitrise User Group webinars. Thank you again for the amazing presentation, Cristian! Hope to see you again soon.

Thank you so much @bitrise for the gifts and giving me opportunity to talk about Xamarin & Bitrise 😄 pic.twitter.com/fAf0FYOH7D— Cristian González 🚀🏳️‍🌈 (@DarryStonem) June 16, 2020

Our next tweet is from Karoly Kass, who posted a screenshot of our last Deep Dive, which was a joint effort between Bitrise and Perfecto, featuring our colleague Tamás Bazsonyi, and Perfecto’s Johnny Lam. Thank you everyone for coming, and we hope you had a great time.

Yesterday we learned #mobile #DevOps, build and test automation from @bazscsa at @bitrise & Johnny Lam at @perfectomobile.😎📱
Mobile frameworks & devices. Nice partnership and nice integration.✌️

This one comes from Satoshi Baba, who, as always, recommended us to folks — thank you so much for the shoutout, Satoshi! We really appreciate it.

Next up is Hummer, who tweeted about having gotten acquainted with the platform. Hope you’re having a great time — let us know how things are going!

It’s always rewarding to see when things all work out — so it was with Mauri’s tweet, who replied after having tweaked the management of his codesigning files with some nice Auto Provisioning. Thanks for using Bitrise, Mauri!

With WWDC 2020 having come and gone, there was bound to be a bit more emphasis on Xcode in the past two weeks. With that in mind, it’s no wonder we saw a bunch of great tweets about how fast Xcode 12 beta support appeared on Bitrise. Here's couple out of the many, for good measure. Thank you for the kind words, everyone. 😉

Next is a shoutout from Ziad Tawfeek, who recently took a look at Bitrise, and realized just what he’s been missing so far. We’re so happy to have you on board, Ziad — let us know what your experience has been with the platform since then.

I just checked @bitrise and I can't believe it took me that long. Mobile CI at its best!— Ziad Tawfeek (@Ziad05) June 25, 2020

Katsumi-san also tweeted about us this week, sharing a beautiful composition of the BUG swag pack he received — thank you for joining us, and we hope you like all our new additions to our merch line! 🎁

But we’re not done with swag pictures just yet! Raúl Ferrer also shared a really cool snapshot of all the swag he got for joining the Writers’ Program — glad to have you on board, Raúl.

I just got it. Thank you @bitrise for this gift! 😃 pic.twitter.com/j83yn4VNcI— Raúl Ferrer (@RaulFerrer_dev) July 1, 2020

We also wanted to give a huge shoutout to our good friend John Sundell, who appeared on the latest episode of our Mobile DevOps is a Thing podcast — if you’ve got some time during the weekend, give the podcast a go, and let us know what you thought. Thanks for joining us, John!

Really enjoyed being a guest on the Bitrise podcast about Mobile DevOps! 😀 We talked about lots of topics related to automated testing, the power of continuous delivery, and more. Have a listen, and I’d love to hear your feedback 🙂 https://t.co/nwY2bnWDsz— John Sundell (@johnsundell) July 2, 2020

While we had quite a few swag pictures this time, there’s always more to look forward to — Tomoki just got word of his incoming package, so we’re looking forward to hearing about what he thinks about it. Let us know when it arrives!

As our last piece of all the Twitter goodness this time, we have not one, but two mentions with screenshots from our latest international BUG. Thank you, Mohammed and Károly — we really appreciate all the kind words, and the fact that you joined us. See you at the next one on August 6!

That’s it for this time, folks . If you have any great experiences or stories about using Bitrise, or would just love to share the progress you’re making on your current project with us, don't forget to do so on social media, or join our Writers' and Speakers' programs, and you might see yourself in our next set of highlights. Until then — happy building!
