🚨Bitrise is no longer supporting Trace. If you have any questions, refer to Bitrise Documentation or get in touch🚨
We first released Bitrise Trace in private beta back in July 2020, with the goal of making reporting and analytics better and easier for our users. We have come a long way since then, and have some exciting news to share.
Launching Trace public beta
We launched Trace last year to a group of private beta users. Over the past couple of months, we spent a lot of time on testing, refining, and improving the add-on with the help of our amazing beta testers, and now we are ready to open beta testing to the public! 🎉
Trace was built to aid and simplify how mobile teams detect, assess, and trace issues in their apps. Designed to monitor applications from the perspective of end-users, Trace will help you catch bugs before your users do. We have a Deep Dive video about Trace on our Youtube channel if you want to, you know, take a deep dive into the topic.

Introducing Android support
After a successful private beta run on iOS, we are now launching Trace for Android apps as well. The setup is pretty simple, all you need to do is adding the Add Trace SDK Android Step to your app’s Workflow. You can also use Gradle — we have a detailed guide in Bitrise Docs if you want to check that one out.
Bitrise will take care of the rest by integrating the SDK and collecting important metrics required to understand the performance of your app.

Advanced Crash Reporting on iOS
With the brand new Crash Reports, you can get all the information you need to fix issues, faster. Trace reports crashes in real-time with details about the user sessions and devices, filtered by issue types, so you can spend more time fixing and less time searching.
- Real-time crash reporting: With Trace, we will show you capture the crash reports from your app as they happen, so you can start working on them as soon as possible.
- Grouping by issue type: We show you the number of occurrences, affected users, and versions, so you can quickly prioritize the most critical issues first.
- Stack trace for each crash: We present the human-readable trace of the crash and the other run-time threads, using the app symbol files we automatically collected from your build.

Try Trace now
Trace is available for all Bitrise users. Make sure you add the Step (iOS, Android) to your Workflow, then open the Trace add-on page to see your reports.
And don’t forget to let us know how you like it!
