Community Roundup: January 15 – 31

Check out what's been going on in the Bitrise community lately!

It’s time for another Community Roundup, folks. We saw some great articles these past two weeks, as well as some lovely tweets and swag pics. Let’s get started!

Articles of the week(s)

Our first article comes from Nash, who wrote a follow-up to the Advent Calendar article of his in which he mentioned difference management using the Bitrise YML — which is exactly what the piece is about. Thank you for this one as well, Nash. Amazing work, as always!

Next up is an article by Yusuke Hosonuma, who published a piece about his thoughts when facing a brief problem concerning the bundler 2.x update on Bitrise. Even if the situation resolves itself, we’re always glad to see people taking the time to write down their experiences — knowledge sharing is key in the CI/CD space, after all. Thank you so much for putting this together, Yusuke!

We also saw an article from Rubén Torres Bonet at The GameDev Guru this week, titled “Continuous Integration for Unity 5.6.1f1 with Docker and Bitrise”. We definitely recommend this one if you’re thinking about setting up some CI for Unity projects — we’re working on our official Unity support as we speak, and so we especially appreciate the community spreading the word about how you can set it up for yourself, even at this point. Thanks for this one, Rubén!

Next up is Alexander Kuttig, with an article that shows some neat ways of optimizing React Native development processes with the help of Bitrise. Thank you so much for putting the work into this piece, Alexander — much appreciated!

Last but not least, we have an article from Yoshiharu Yamada, who wrote about overcoming the “could not get icons for app” error he encountered on the platform. Thanks for sharing this, Yoshiharu.

As a final word before we move onto our tweets, we would like to invite all of the above authors to join our Writers’ Program — we have some pretty neat upcoming features within the program, and we’d always love to help you out with getting more reach for your articles!

Tweets of the week(s)

Our first tweet this time comes from Ryosuke Wada, who just started out with Bitrise two days ago at the time of the tweet — and by the looks of it, he’s been having one heck of a time! We’re glad to hear everything’s working out great. Let us know if we can be of any assistance!

Without a doubt, the “cutest tweet of the Roundup” award goes to Hokila Jan this time, who posted a picture of his daughter wearing our super-snuggly Bitrise hoodie. Thank you for sharing these precious moments with us, Hokila — after all, it's never too early to learn about the wonders of mobile CI/CD. 😉

We can’t forget about our favorite swag tweets, either! Our first one comes from Fromkk, who just got his Bitrise package after the Advent Calendar event we had on Qiita. Great picture of all of the goodies, Kazuya!

Next up is Kazuma Nagano, who also participated in the Advent Calendar. Thank you for writing about us once again, Kazuma — and we hope you like all the new swag we came up with.

Believe it or not, mobile CI/CD can be quite a poetic topic. Just look at this example we have by Abdelrahman Ibrahim, who has “seen lights from heaven” thanks to the platform. All jokes aside, we’re really happy to see everything’s going well with your setup. Keep up the good work.

We got quite a few great recommendations throughout the past two weeks, but this one by Jaakko Kangasharju definitely stood out. Thank you for all the kind words, Jaakko — we feel lucky to have amazing users like you on board.

We’ve got another Advent Calendar swag tweet, this time from Takahiro! Thank you for snapping these pictures for us, and we hope you make good use of the gifts.

Asmz also shared a great picture of the goodies he got after his Advent Calendar article. Hope you like all that purple Bitrise magic!

Believe it or not, there was someone who wrote an actual blogpost about the Advent Calendar swags. Looks like Anz was more than a little bit surprised by the package we sent. No need to worry — we deliberately wanted to reward all of you for being so great and writing about us. Hope we get to see you in the Writers’ Program as well, Anz!

One of the nicest comments we got during these weeks were the ones we saw in response to the tweet we published about iOSConf Singapore 2020. Paul Hudson praised us for investing in the community and doing great work, Johann shared how he’s had great experiences with us, and Pawel Urbanowicz recommended us to Artur Rymarz as “hands down the best mobile CI system” he ever used. It’s great to see how enthusiastic and loving our fans are — thank you for all the compliments, folks! Oh, and Artur — we hope we get to see you on board soon!

Seen all those great Bitrise water bottles in the previous few tweets? Orimomo’s got you covered with a close-up of this new swag of ours. Thank you for taking part of the Advent Calendar, Orimomo — and we hope you like the swag.

Just sayin’, Christian Menschel also tweeted about us this week. Thank you for the shoutout, Christian, and we’re really happy to hear you like Bitrise so much!

Last but not least, the best message of them all, brought to you by Hikaru Hasegawa this time: use Bitrise! Thanks for the shoutout Hikaru, and we’re hoping you’re having a great time using the platform.

That’s it for this one, everyone. If you have any great experiences or stories about using Bitrise, or would just love to share the progress you’re making on your current project with us, don't forget to do so on social media, or join our Writers' and Speakers' programs, and you might see yourself in our next set of highlights. Until then — happy building
