Last year we introduced Build Insights, a tool that helps you understand your build performance and where you can improve your team’s delivery velocity and stability. With Build Insights, you can quickly check in on the status of your apps and workflows – and if something doesn’t look quite right, you can drill down into the details to get a better understanding of any issues so that you can act to resolve them.
Build Insights is an out-of-the-box solution that enables you to optimize your builds by exposing data in three key areas:
- Stability - Showing which errors have the highest impact on your builds. This includes success rates.
- Velocity - Selecting the area you should focus on to improve the speed of your builds. This includes metrics like successful build times and build consistency (typical vs top).
- Usage - Letting you know which Steps and Workflows take the most time in your builds. With flexible time queries, Insights helps you get an overview of credit usage, from Workspace level to workflows.
The general gist of Build Insights is that you’ll get up-to-date performance statuses for all your Workflows, Steps, and tests.
New video tutorials
At this point, having gotten a brief introduction of what Build Insights is, you might be wondering, how exactly does it work? Well, you’re in luck, because we’ve recently released a new video tutorial series that gives you a hands-on look on what it’s like to actually use Build Insights!
The series starts off by introducing you to the Build Insights dashboard.
Next, you’ll get a look at how you can use Build Insights to track your credit consumption and pinpoint areas that could use some optimization.
Then you’ll get an understanding of how Build Insights can help locate changes that have been made to workflow performance to gain more understanding of potential causes.
And, finally, you’ll see how you can use Build Insights to locate which Workflows and Steps are causing a majority of the build failures.
Next steps: unlock the power of Build Insights
At the end of the day, as excited as we are about the power and potential of Build Insights, we built it for you. And now that you’ve gotten a taste of what Build Insights is and how it works, we want to know what you think about it.
You can access Build Insights right now by logging into Bitrise, selecting your workspace, and then clicking the Insights button.

From there you’ll be able to dive into the dashboard, just like you saw in the video, and check things out for yourself.Let us know what you think!

Happy building!
