The Repeato Bitrise Verified Step: Codeless UI testing for mobile apps

Bitrise is excited to introduce the new Repeato Verified Step. Repeato uses computer vision and machine learning to help mobile teams automate robust UI tests — even without coding skills.

Creating robust mobile tests traditionally requires deep technical knowledge, plenty of developer hours, and a large budget. For a mobile product organization, testing automation can help speed up the release cycle while maintaining confidence. That’s why we’re excited to announce that Repeato is joining our growing list of Verified Step Partners to help reduce your developer workload. The Repeato Verified Step brings codeless UI testing automation for iOS and Android apps to Bitrise Workflows.

About the Repeato Step

Repeato is a UI test automation tool for mobile apps that lets you create tests without scripting. With Repeato, mobile teams can do more testing while reducing the workload from developers and QAs significantly.

It allows you to:

  • Use testing routines that help you to deliver flawless apps and increase user satisfaction and loyalty
  • Record new tests within seconds — without code or element IDs
  • Save and version tests in your file system as a separate repository or as part of your code repository; it’s up to you
  • Export test run reports as PDF, HTML, or Jira issues

How it works

Repeato works based on computer vision and machine learning. This allows you to even check UI elements that are living inside a web view or elements rendered inside a 3D context.

Repeato works for iOS or Android and is compatible with a wide range of app development frameworks, such as Flutter, React Native, Ionic, Xamarin, Unity, Unreal Engine, and many more. It also supports testing using physical devices, as well as simulators/emulators.

To add the Repeato Verified Step to your Bitrise workflow, simply insert a “Repeato Test Runner” step. This is what it looks like:

After configuring the Repeato Step, your Bitrise workflow will take care of running your tests.
