This year, AI agents have been writing more code than ever, and we've seen the slow part of shipping move from writing code to building and releasing it. You've probably felt it in your own team too. So this quarter we focused on making sure all that extra code doesn't turn into extra waiting for you. Here are the 20+ updates we shipped across Bitrise in Q3:
Bitrise CI
One of our customers at Bitcoin.com mentioned that "AI made it easier than ever to generate code, but that shifted the bottleneck further down the pipeline, effectively doubling the amount of work flowing through the pipeline." That pipeline is Bitrise CI. It builds and tests your mobile app on every push, on macOS and Linux machines we run for you, so twice the code doesn’t mean twice the wait.
Here's what's new in Bitrise CI:
- The Bitrise Desktop App, a menu bar app that shows the build status of the branch you are working on, now including GitHub merge queue builds.
- You can now edit modular configurations online in the Workflow Editor, and use the AI configuration assistant (beta) to make and explain config changes in plain language.
- Utility builds: short builds on Linux Small no longer count toward your quota (open beta).
- Bitrise for Jira, a dedicated Bitrise-Jira integration that shows build status inside your Jira tickets.
- Test quarantine now works for Swift Testing, so flaky Swift tests stop failing your builds.
- The public API now includes certificate and profile expiry data, so you can renew before a build fails.

Bitrise Insights
Scott Berrevoets, iOS Platform Lead at Speak, told us: "Now our AI agents can ask Bitrise, 'How did this build do? What failed?' and then go back and fix it." Bitrise Insights is where that data lives. It shows you where build and test time goes: slow steps, failing builds, flaky tests. Until now, you read it in a dashboard.
Now your tools and your agents can read it too:
- Insights API is in open beta. You get build and test metrics as JSON from five read-only endpoints, ready for your BI tools and automations.
- Insights MCP gives the same metrics to Claude, Cursor, Codex or your own agent, so you can ask "which tests are the flakiest on main this month?"

Build Hub
If you're on GitHub Actions, Build Hub makes your builds faster without moving you off it. Coding agents push more code than ever, so every extra build sits in the queue and your team waits with it. Bitrise Build Hub runs those builds on the newest Apple Silicon and high-core Linux instead, 54% faster on iOS and 31% on Android. So you keep GitHub Actions. Changing one line in your workflow is all it takes (it’s that ease).
Here’s what we’ve released:
- Build Hub self-serve is live. You can sign up and try Build Hub on your own, with a 14-day trial.
- M5 and M6 runners are coming soon, with Large (9-core) and X-Large (18-core) tiers. Pay-As-You-Go limits let your jobs keep running after your monthly budget while the extra cost stays capped.
- Flexible runner allocation: your machine pools now share your org's concurrency automatically, so you no longer reserve a fixed number of vCPUs per pool.
- Compute resource overview shows current vCPU usage per machine family at the top of the view.
Bitrise Build Cache
Speeding up your builds isn't just beneficial for CI. Bitrise Build Cache works on your developers' local machines too, saving your org hundreds of hours. Local builds pull from work your CI has already done, instead of compiling from scratch.
Use our guided CLI to connect each build tool (Gradle, Xcode, React Native, Bazel) and once connected, your local build times and cache hit rates will show up in Bitrise Insights.
Also new this quarter:
- AI-guided setup: paste one prompt into your AI agent and it sets up Build Cache for Gradle, Xcode, React Native or Bazel, builds the project, seeds the cache and checks that caching works.
- Build Cache for React Native now caches the C++ (Hermes, Folly, ReactCommon) your CI used to recompile on every run.
- Build Cache for GitHub Actions is easier to set up, with new guides for every build tool. On Build Hub it needs no authentication setup at all and the cache sits next to the runners.
- Time Savings Report is now available to all Build Cache customers, not only during the trial, with a fresh baseline every 30 days.
- Cache status replaces the hit rate percentage on the invocation list. Each build is labeled Healthy, Warming up, Low reuse or No activity, so you can see at a glance whether the cache is working.
- Bazel failures explained: a failed Bazel invocation now shows which targets failed and the compiler output, without opening the log.
Remote Dev Environments
Remote Dev Environments (RDE) are now generally available! Our engineering team worked hard to bring it to all of you. If you’re new to this, RDE gives you on-demand cloud machines that start in seconds. You can work in one yourself, or give every coding agent its own one and let several work in parallel, each on its own branch. So nothing is competing for your CPU or your simulator.
What you get:
- Same infrastructure, stacks and caches as your CI.
- Best-in-class macOS on Apple Silicon and Linux machines.
- A sandbox where an agent can build and test your app, using your own API keys or AI subscriptions.
- Archive when you stop, restore where you left off.
- Create iOS or Android devices so you or your agents can test or develop your application.
Want to give it a try? Connect from the CLI, the web UI with its built-in terminal, VS Code, Cursor or Claude Code over SSH, or let an agent create and drive sessions through our open-source MCP server. Find out more about RDE or check out our docs.
RDE also reached #2 Product of the Day on Product Hunt. Thank you to everyone who supported the launch!
Bitrise Release Management
Bitrise Release Management takes a build from CI to testers and to the app stores. It also includes Bitrise CodePush, which lets you push fixes to your React Native app without waiting for an app store review (OTA updates). Here is the list of cool things we built:
- External tester groups for Release Management: you no longer need a Bitrise account to access test builds. You can simply set up new groups using email addresses and recipients will receive an install link, which you can secure with expiry dates and access codes.
- Delta updates for CodePush: only the changed files are sent to the device, so updates are 33% to 90% smaller. Faster downloads for users, less data transfer for you.
- Code signing for CodePush: the app checks that an update really came from you before installing it. Free on every plan, CLI now and UI soon.
- CodePush Publish step: publish an update straight from your Bitrise CI workflow (no manual setup).

Stay in the loop
That's (almost) everything from Q3. Big kudos to our product and engineering teams for shipping so much cool stuff this quarter.
Between these roundups, every release goes on our changelog as it ships. And if there's something you'd like us to build next, vote for it on the roadmap. Our engineers, PMs and PMMs all have a favorite feature request, and they're quietly hoping you'll give them a reason to build it.
If you're not on Bitrise yet, start a free trial to run your first build, or book a demo and we'll walk you through the platform. See you in Q4!
