We received many feature requests asking for 'build statistics' to help you understand where you can improve your build performance and be more effective. Today, we launch Build Insights to give you that and more.
Mobile development teams are constantly looking to improve their delivery velocity and stability. A core component of that is CI/CD and tracking its performance and stability. So far, such a tracking feature was missing from Bitrise or could be made available only through APIs and third-party dashboards. With Build Insights, you and your team will be able to optimize your workflows and builds in a data-driven way.
Build Insights is a monitoring tool that provides you a convenient means to check in on your build performance and track accompanying metrics. With a quick scan, you can see how all your apps and workflows are doing. If something doesn't look right, drill in for more details to understand where the problem is on app, Workflow, and Step level. To optimize your builds, you can use the data from the following main areas:
- Stability - Showing which errors have the highest impact on your builds, with success rates included.
- Velocity - So you can select the area you should focus on to improve the speed of your builds. This includes metrics like successful build times and build consistency (typical vs top).
- Usage - Letting you know which Steps and Workflows take the most time in your builds. With flexible time queries, Insights helps you get an overview of credit usage, from Workspace level to workflows.
Insights is part of Bitrise, so it is a mobile-focused, out-of-the-box solution that requires no setup or manual hosting.
Read more about what Build Insights includes here or watch this overview video:
After logging in, select your Workspace in the top right corner, then click Insights on the top.
Build Insights is bundled with paid and trialling Teams and Velocity accounts and is included in these credit-based plans.
Concurrency-based plans will receive a 1-month free trial to Insights, after which they're able to migrate to a credit-based plan to receive the feature for free.
Alternative build monitoring options
In addition to the new Bitrise Insights feature, you have multiple options when it comes to monitoring your Bitrise build performance. Before having access to Bitrise Insights, many teams built their own performance monitoring dashboards with tools like Grafana. The Bitrise API provides multiple end-points for build performance, which can be connected to your own data visualization tool. In case you’d still prefer to do the same, you can read our API documentation and check out the Bitrise API endpoint reference to see all currently available endpoints and their parameters.
Additionally, you’re able to connect to a newly released Meercode add-on, which brings this third-party build performance monitoring tool to you directly within Bitrise. To connect Meercode to your Bitrise account, go to the Add-on tab of your app on Bitrise, or go directly to Meercode and click Login with Bitrise.
Help us help you
